I guess I really DID break my thumb!

About three weeks ago I was rooting in the lockbox on my truck and I had to go get something on the other side, because the latch was sticky, I had to press down on the box and as I did so, the damned hting slid to the other side and dropped right down on my first thumb knuckle that was turned on its side.

Can you say, OW?! I know I did...loudly!...I think I actually screamed it. And it hurt like hell for about an hour, but because I could bend it after icing it, and because I couldn't be bothered with going to get it X-rayed I went on.. Well, apparently now that it is bothering me still, and the knuckle is still just as tender as it was a day or two afterward, I think I really did break it! Wierd.

In other news, I am NOT going to go to my sister's for thanksgiving tomorrow. Tina and Beni are going to cook and I am too, but I am also formulating things herbally, so I have no reason to go. If I need an excuse, I can go the ER and get them to X-Ray my thumb for real. Since my sister is a nurse, I fullly expect her to check. It's pretty sad, but I don't want to hang out with them - they are trolls, and besides, I have temple family and family in this house that need me more.

I am putting together the syllabus for my herbal classes. I need to get that finished because I am finding through my recent discussions with temple members and people at work both in the company and the customers, its just insane what is going on. If I can empower one more person to take care of themselves, then I am doing my job.

OUCH. I'm always sensitive to finger injuries. I hope it's okay. It sounds painful!

I take my crippled, misshapen, callused and crooked hands for granted sometimes

Injuries?
I just go on as if they only signified my personal evolution continuing to unfold

I cannot draw or play piano for more than two-5 minutes without pain
(but I still do anyway)

My toes upset me sometimes as well..
walking is fucked when you have bone spurs and fragmented shrapnel from crushing injuries floating about

Ahhhh...
Nevertheless, to realize those moments when all is well, good, and easy to relate while reading of your own experiences..

Yikes! Please do get your thumb checked out. It might need to be set in a splint. I broke my thumb years ago (breaking up a fight between Keren and Alisa!) but with time it healed completely. I hope yours heals well and it feels better soon! ((((((hugs)))))))
