Johnny you, I could pretend with
God, you are the only one I can really bend with
Take me 'cross the River Styx
Fill my eyes with fire tricks
Anything you've got hidden up your sleeve
Anything you tell me, Johnny, I'll believe

I thought that was a rather fitting song to have had pop up on my CD changer on the way home. I always loved that song! So..... Mr. Depp got voted the sexiest Man of 2003! What a surprise! Heh...not really. He really deserves it after all this time. Thank god its not some doofus like Brad Pitt or J-Lo's ex-fiance. You know, there is someting to be said with a life that begins at forty and parenthood! It looks very good on him. :-)

Well, while I'll presonally respectfully disagree about the whole parenthood thing (would I break my rules for Johnny? Dammit, tough call. Still, probably not....but not without pausing to think about it really hard), I totally agree he deserves the title. All I could think was "It's about time!!!"

Go, Johnny, Go!!!! Johnny be good!!!

I guess those of us who have kids, who are Johnny's age, sort of like the fact that he isn't trying to perpetually hang on to his youth. It makes us feel less dated, I suppose! ;-)

Oh, the age thing doesn't bother me, I feel the same way about Helen Mirren, she just grows more beautiful as she gets older. Just because someone chooses not to have children does not mean they are trying to perpetually hang on to their youth. If anything the ones trying to hang onto youth are the old men like Michael Douglas who have to go and breed litters with women young enough to be their daughters - it's like "Look! My hair may be grey but my dick still works!". Johnny seems pretty well grounded and private about his life, doesn't pull the publicity antics like that. And I believe his wife is somewhere near his own age.

I see what you mean. I kinda wish Al Pacino would stop fathering babies, too, come to think of it! ;-) Johnny does very much seem to be well grounded - he seems to be fairly well rooted in reality on a great many things. I think sometimes in Hollywood it becomes far to easy to believe in your own PR, or think you need to do things like marry a younger spouse, father a new baby in order to remain a "salable commodity", so to speak. It's too bad. Yes, Helen Miren, Francesca Annis, Dame Judy Dentch - these ladies are all pretty timeless. (And if I could age anywhere near as gracefully as ANY of them, I'd be doing very well!) ;-)

Ooh, you just reminded me, she is now Dame Helen Mirren!

When they make someone a knight, it's referred to as being knighted....so when thye make someone a dame is that "being damed"???
