The Missive

niankhsekhmetThis is a piece that is mainly correspondence. It is from Aisha's father, the Sultan, complaining vociferously about the act of piracy and contains a warning to the King so that he may bring his subjects - mainly privateers to heel. Will and I had alot of fun with this!
From the Sultan's personal diary:
Never have I been so outratged, so pushed to the edge of my endurance as I am at this moment! I have been made a fool by the infidel King of England and his kingdom that is inhabited by dogs! Infidels and pirates! If I had my way I would slaughter the lot of them! I can still feel my own pulse in my forehead, and my latest Goezde, though full of flower, supple and willing, even through her best efforts cannot quell this incredible fury that tears at my breast! If what the Kizlar has informed me is true, if Aisha is still with the privateers then it must stand to reason that they and England mean to ransome her to Me, and to gain a firmer foothold in the East! If I were as strong as my forefathers I would drive all of them into the sea, only after soaking my robes with their infidel blood until my anger was sated! By the Prophet (May all Blessings be upon Him!) I would declare a jihad and no one could question Me as Padusha!
And what of my daughter? What of Aisha? Is she still safe? Whether she is or not or her virtue is or not, these men have condemned her to death. I have other daughters and I will send one to the Maharajah but I must needs to broach my dissatisfaction with England's King! There will be restitution or there shall be war. The following is my letter to the King of English Dogs:

To His Majesty the King of England from
The Padushah, Sultan Sheikh Mahamoud Ibn Farouk
Under great consideration of the relationship between Our Nation and Yours, and after the consultation with Our Brother, The Maharajah Khuram Singh, We find Ourselves deeply aggrieved of the most heinous acts of piracy. These acts were committed by privateers protected under letters of marque granted to men who are subjects to the British Crown and Your Majesty. We are outraged that these privateers did attack and plunder a ship under the flag of Our Kingdom and that of the Maharajah. These items, by virtue of these letters of Marque granted by Your Majesty allowed them to plunder Our property and to either kidnap or murder subjects of Our Kingdom. Among the kidnaped is Our Own Daughter, the Amiree Aisha, who was the fully betrothed and dowried bride of the Grand Mughal Himself, Our Brother! We are outraged that the pirates did plunder Our legally gifted dowry for Our Daughter to the Maharajah and kidnap Her Person as well as the full retinue of her serving women, as well as slaughtering all male members of Our crew ending in the final result of the sinking of Our ship!
For Us to make Our moans to be heard to Your Majesty as to the abysmal situation that has existed upon Our coast, has been rare. Satisfice it to say that protest must needs in this particular instance! The pretensed purpose of trade exists between Our Three Countries, but Our needs demand justice upon these privateers by Our Own jurisdiction and means and the return of Our property and Daughter! If We do not receive satisfaction upon all levels for this most grievous wrong which has been committed upon Our Sovereign jurisdiction, then Your Majesty must do naught but consider this missive to be a warning that all trade, all diplomatic relations between Your Majesty’s Realm and Ours and that of Our Brother, the Maharajah will cease and all subjects to the British Crown will be expelled.
We are assured that Your Majesty will do what is right and true, and will provide every effort to insure that all is carried out with the swiftest possible haste and diligence toward its satisfaction.
May Allah place His Blessing upon Us!

I have sent it with the tides to be carried to the English King with all urgency. I have also agreed to dispatch Our servant, the Kizlar Aga in search of Aisha and her captors. I know that like me, he will not rest until the matter is resolved, until there is a cleansing. If this be by blood - even by the blood of Our own children - then so be it.

satisfice - is a really wonderful word, rather archaic that is a combination word of statisfaction and suffice.
pretensed - another combo-word, of pretended and pretense. It is rather self explanatory.
