What a way to wake up...

I woke up to the sound of the news this morning about the space shuttle Columbia, very probably having blown up over Texas. The reporters, of course, had to mention the fact that there was an Israeli on board the flight. The bubble-headed-bleached blonde and the pretty boy reporters ask NASA former astronauts and officials questions that anyone but the most intellectually challenged knows that they are not going to get answers for.

"Is there any indication that this could be a terrorist attack?"

"Its obvious from this video footage that there was a major problem or more specifically an explosion, do you feel there could be any survivors, even though it was calculated to be at 200,000 feet."

I pray for the safety on the people on board, but I have a very distinct feeling that I am going to be making my prayers to Netjer for their passage to the West. :(

This just in...

Dan Rather reports that in the state of Florida, flags are at half mast to indicate a tragedy....a tragedy not having occured in that state in a very long time.


I was thinking to myself, actually the last tragedy that happened in the state of Florida was when George W. Bush was elected.

Reporters should have to go through sensitivity courses!

I cannot believe that some reporter, an unthinking and foolish woman, was just on blathering about the Columbia disaster as if it were some sort of rallying cry to get us ready for the coming war with Iraq. What started off as a question as to the scrutiny that NASA would fall under as a result of the latest shuttle disaster, this insensitive woman went on to state

"We have to not let these men and women down who died today. We have to keep America strong and remember that our space program is responsible for the sattelites that keep America safe, and pre-eminent in the world. "

Excuse me, but there was an Indian National and an Israeli National on board that shuttle, too. Since WHEN did this tragedy come to be about "America" and our "pre-eminent position" in the world? Seven people are dead, their families are grieving! Why can't war hungry, war mongering, muck stirring reporters think about those things?
