Mercy
Written and Recorded by Karin Perris & Innocence Mission

There is my kite
Caught around a signpost
The sign says: You are almost there.
So I was right - there is a Heaven
Very near

But there are no fires in hell
There is only Mercy

Some days my kite goes where I cannot see
And I feel happy for its freedom
When it's tangled in the trees and wires
I know it's my own fault
All my fault

But there are no fires in hell
There is only Mercy
(I believe)

One day my kite will escape forever
And I will jump to catch the trailing string
Wishes and wants will fall from my pocket
As I wave, full of peace

There are no fires in hell
There is only Mercy
(I believe)
There are no fires of hell
Only Mercy

(I've always loved that song)

I need a new email client.

I have simply lost count how many times Eudora has decided to take a powder and delete the contents of my in basket. It does not help, of course, that I let about 6,000 emails sit in it before I do anything with them. I acknowledge I am equally to blame for the problems probably as is the software.

Im on tucows.com and shareware.com (CNet) to see what I can find that is comparable. I like alot of the features that Eudora has. I will not even consider anything by Microsmurf - so don't mention Access to me! ;-) Opera's latest browser 7 Beta 2 is a good browser but the email preferences and features have done a backhill slide.

Oh...speaking of that (sliding), there is snow on the ground finally...that means I get to take out Deshret (The Landcruiser) and play! *grin* Now if I can get the darned thing warm enough so that I don't end up freezing!

Ok...

So washing one's car when it is below freezing outside is not the brightest of ideas! ;-)

Deshret looks like a giant red Landcruisersicle now! Heh.. But she was really dirty! A little basking in the sunlight and the ice should melt off the doors and windows and running boards. *chuckling* Well one good thing! I realized that if there were ever an ice storm, driving her would be most definitely entertaining ;-)

1. Describe the best feeling you've ever had:

There are so many: the moment when I gave birth to my son, Userbenu, I was crying and laughing at the same time.

2. Were you named after anyone:
Yes, my Great Grandmother Christina Bracht, of Germany. She was a damned fine herbalist, too. :-)

3. Do you wish on stars:
When they are shooting stars, sure! :)

4. Which finger is your favourite?:
The one that I dont end up crushing when chopping firewood.

5. When did you last cry:
Too recently. This morning, when someone said something very sweet to me. *looks at Will* ;-)

6. Do you like your handwriting:
Handwriting? I thought it was scrawl? I can deal with my handwriting when I use a fountain pen - which is always.

7. What is your favorite lunch meat:
Roast Beef

15. Do you think there is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow: No, there is no end to a rainbow, it a perfect interconnected circle - an optical illusion, and if there is a pot of gold, its at the end of following our dreams, not at the end of a rainbow.

16. Do fish have feelings:
Yes...don't you?

17. Are you trendy:

I suppose, but you need to realize that I don't follow trends...baby, I AM the trend! ;-)

18. How do you release anger: I chop wood, I write...I dig in the garden.

19. Where is your second home:

In my truck.

20. Do you trust others easily:

I like to give others the benefit of the doubt, until they prove themselves to be untrustworthy.

21. What was your favorite toy as a child:
My Fisher Price Play Family Castle. :-) That trap door to the dungeon ROCKS!!! I managed to save it for Beni and eventually hope to have it for his chidren. The other was my saddle and bridle for my Appaloosa mare, Tonkah. I know that sounds really odd, but I spent my entire childhood on the back of a horse. *sigh* I miss that.

22. What class in school do you think is totally

Driver's Ed because your parents teach you & American History -because its pretty much all lies anyway. (At least from myperspective!)

23. Do you like sappy love songs:

Do I like heavy syrrup on my desserts? No.

24. Have you ever been on radio or television:

Yes, my friend and fellow band mate, Marina and I were on the news, along with about a dozen other performers for our part in a Hurricane Andrew Benefit concert. *hums 'Crazy on You'*

25. Do you have a journal:

Is this a serious question? Yes, I have several.

26. Do you use sarcasm a lot:

Yeah right!

27. Have you ever been in a mosh pit:

I happen to like my nose the way it is, thanks.

29. What are your nicknames:

Xina, Niankh, Mom

30. Would you bungee jump:

Why would I jump off of a perfectly good bridge with a spoungy rope-type thing tied around my ankle? I am many things...stupidly INSANE is not one of them!

31. Do you untie your shoes when you take them off:

Depends on if I am wearing boots or not. Only one pair of my boots lace.

32. What are you worried about right now:

I'm worried about burning my Greek artichoke, spinach and organic feta cheese pizza.

33. Do you ever wear overalls:

They should be illegal. Who designs these ugly things? They arent functional! To quote David Lee Roth: "It's not whether you win or lose....its how you look while you are playing!"

34. Do you think that you are strong:

Yes, you have to be to live where I do.

35. What's your favorite ice cream flavour:

I call it, "Sin in a Box" (caramel, chocolate chips, peanuts, and marshmallow held together with just a smidgeon of vanilla ice cream) - I think Wells Blue Bunny calls it Goo-Goo Cluster, however.

36.What's your favourite colour: For what?

sweaters, skirts etc. Black, car, Black or red...glassware - cobalt blue. It really depends on what it is. I like all colors if you get down to it.

37. What is your least favorite thing in the world:

Doing dishes or spreadsheets, I hate them with equal passion.

38. How many wisdom teeth do you have:

Two

39. Do you have a crush on someone?:

umm.....not today.

40. How many people have a crush on you right now:

I have no idea. Why do you ask?

41. What do you miss most right now:

70 degree temperatures, green grass, and the beautiful turkey vultures that are here during the warmer months. I miss horseback riding, and my dog, Gracie, that someone stole about 8 years ago. :(

42. Do you want everyone you send this to to send it back:
Pfffft! I get enough spam as it is!

43. What are your fears?:
That our current Administration in the occupational government is going to see fit to go to war for NO good reason. Im sorry, but I see alot of hypocracy on the part of the US. As a result our position in the world and the rest of the world's opinion of Americans overall will go to hell...FAST. The Occupational Government is behaving like a bunch of bloodthirsty jerks - and in 500 years nothing has changed in their attitude at all- except its not just this continent they want to "own" anymore...its the rest of the world, too. I honestly think that policy makers have this idea that the US has a fundamental right - a sort of twisted manifest destiny to call the tune for anyone and everyone.

44. Do you talk to your laundry?:

Only if it speaks to me first.

45. At what point do your clothes become laundry?:

when it gets stuffed into the hamper.
