Hang on to your free accounts ladies and gentlemen. I just got THIS NEWS from various places that is floating around. Why do I get the impression that this is not a good thing?

Mergers and acquisitions ALWAYS make me nervous. (Remember MCI and WorldCONNED Worldcom? I sure as hell do!)

Thing is, I have two paid accounts and I *like* having the features, but I do not like the idea of possibly paying more for them. This is almost always what happens when someone acquires another company, they try to make the business model and its users bleed a bit more of their hard-earned dosh in order to help pay for the overpriced stock options they paid for in the deal.

Brad at one time said that he keep lj a famly run business. I wonder how he can do this in light of the merger. Shakes head.

Mega mergers are bad for business I think.

ATT and continental cablevision is another example of such. Att latter spawned Comcast.
Now we have ATT and Cingular. I shudder what will emerge from that pairing.
MCI and Worldcom? Yes I remember. The Match made in the neither worlds.
