I have just made up a new word, it describes in its syllables just what it is that I do and study. This word is:

ethnobotanicalpharmacology©

Ethnobotanicalpharmacology ©, like ethnobotany defines the science of medicinal and food plants of various indigenous and ethinic peoples throughout the world. Pharmacology actually gets into the chemical and technical breakdown of said same and how they can best be used in the natural products industry or more specifically, by herbalists, naturopaths, or traditional healers within a specific or collecitive ethnographic context or those who practice planetary medicine. (Planetary Medicine is not copyrightable, although, I know of at least three authors who do use it as their term...I am indebted to them for I have learned much from each of them.)

So those who think that it would be cool to borrow my word, ethnobotanicalpharmacology © without giving me proper credit...don't. It's mine and its documented that its mine. Go make up your own darn word.

And so those of you want to prove me wrong and build a case about how its not my word, can look it up till your fingers fall off, you can check the OED, Google and any other search engine you want, knock yourselves out... but ethnobotanicalpharmacology © is quite simply....MINE. And its going to be copywritten and attributed to ME! Get over it! :-)

And what is so beautiful about MY word is that its redundant in a way - but I have to say I really did that on purpose in order to lend a kind of emphasis on the medicinal aspect of the plant sources being discussed.

Good word...glad I thought of it. Now to cash in on it! ;-)

whatta word!

*laughing* YES! That's a good song! I love Jane's Addiction...my other two favorites are "They Make Good Pets" (referring to humans) and of course the ever-popular "Been Caugh Stealing". Did you ever see the video to that one?! It was such a scream!

Ya know, somehow I managed to miss They Make Good Pets and the video to Been Caught Stealing (but not the song thank Netjer!) - For shame! Must find both NOW!

You can't copyright a short term. But you can trademark it. Ethnobotanicalpharmacology™ There, that's better. ;)

Not much fun to have in a spelling bee, that's for sure ...
