I just got home from a day of being herbalist on duty at Green Angels. This was while Trilby was at the local Health Fair Expo, hopefully drummming up business for Green Angels. Tonight, actually in a few minutes, I need to leave and go over to Wild Thyme to meet Robyn and the gang to go over to Barboard Bob's for his annual party and jam session. Robyn says its time to network big time! And so she is introducing me as her herbalist and assistant, and we should be open in the next couple of weeks. I am excited and exhausted at the same time!

[livejournal.com profile] fannyfae has been having an intense conversation with [livejournal.com profile] king_of_goblins HERE. Somehow through the exchange, I got introduced to the works of Laurell K. Hamilton, and the Fae of her Merry Gentry series. Very interesting stuff! I have been looking for some good fiction, although when I saw she writes vampire fiction too, I sort of wanted to walk away. I am one of those wierdos who does NOT like vampire fiction. I blame Anne Rice for that, I am afraid. The woman is a nut and her writing has gotten worse over the years.

Anyway, [livejournal.com profile] fannyfae owes Jareth, [livejournal.com profile] king_of_goblins a story, and I was able to do some work on it today. I think it was the most recent conversations between the two of them that caused it. Even the mun for [livejournal.com profile] captainbarbossa has been reading it with a bit of interest, seeing Fanny's Fae nature come shining out in its full glory! ;)

Ah well, I think I better get myself dressed. Somehow the foofy floral print dress I wore for day time is not going to be nearly warm enough for the evening. Looks like its black leather skirt and sweater. Ooh maybe I will get to sit in and get to sing tonight. I would love to do that! ;-)

Postscript: Well, I didn't stay too terribly long. I didn't get to sing, but I did get to interact with alot of my neighbors, which was nice. I got to talk to Jody Coates and Dave who lives in the trailer just down from me. Kirk, who used to tour with an acoustic band that lived half the year in the Peruvian Andes was there. It was a very interesting and ecclectic gathering of folks. Now I am just sitting here working on the story some more, and hopefully getting to spend some time relaxing. Tomorrow is busytime again.

Ooh, don't pass up on Hamilton's Anita Blake series just because of Anne Rice -- way, WAY different authors. The Blake novels are a world of fun, and her vamps would leave Lestat whimpering in a corner, clutching his lace doilies.

Well, I am absolutely LOVING the Merry Gentry series so far! The books are just lush, and Dua Netjer someone who can write the Fae without making them into simpering lollipop kids!
