First off? Thank you so much for including me in your list! Duncan is honored and Milady is looking at me like, "Well, of course I'm including." *baps Milady*

I've always been a lurker of Fanny's since I joined TM. And, granted, I haven't been there as long as most people (only over a year with my various muses), but I've been RPing for much, much longer. *thinks* Um... about ten years, now. I started with "Star Wars" as my first fandom and that was where my first fandom OC was born as well. Thank the God & Goddess that I've improved, though! *LOL*

I agree 100% with everything you said. RPing is a FORM of writing, and if people don't see that or understand that, then it's their loss, I suppose. If you decide to take your muse and start a friendship/relationship/any 'ship, then communication is key. Like Jessie, I usually don't like to plan. I come up with little evil plot bunnies to start off, and then I wait and see what the muse will do. I have no idea what's going to happen with either Duncan or Milady at the moment. I have no idea what's going to happen with Scott & Emma now that we've screwed them up some more. I even went and did the one thing I said I'd never do, and that was get Jackie engaged. If you plot out the ending, at least for me, I find it's so much more difficult to RP. You've lost your freedom. (Stepping off soapbox now...)

Your muse is your muse, period. Don't ask anyone else what to do with him or her. If you do that, it's pretty stupid because it means you don't fully understand your own character. Or you're not listening to what your own character wishes you to do.

Something else about writing partners -- I don't care how well you know a person, you have to have complete and total trust in them for a relationship to work. If you don't? It's doomed to fail. Someone will say something or do something that will "hurt" the other mun's feelings and that usually bleeds over into RP, typically by accident. Trust & communication. For me (as it was stated before) OOC means it's totally out of character because I am the one talking. Meta means it's the muse talking, but it's not canon RP. Milady is an example of that. I'm open to AIM/email/tagging as RP, but I need to know beforehand if it will be taken as such, otherwise I typically will only refer to tagging as RP. (And by "tagging", I mean the LONG posts, not the short ones that go like: "He walked into the bar and smiled at so-and-so." That is not RP. That is you having fun with some free time. RP means you think about your character's motives, feelings, etc. It means you put effort into your tag or post.)

Also? Baby!plots, wedding!plots, sex!threads... ugh! Can I say I'm so sick of it? Please, please, please people. Think! Think of something else to do with your beloved muse! Why did you decide to write this muse? Cybersex? If so, then go away and let someone who actually cares about the muse take over and do something interesting with him/her. PLOTS! OMG PLOTS! Yes, there is such a thing but sadly, I see very little of it in TM. (Would you believe Duncan has been there over a year, is straight and single, and hasn't gotten laid ONCE? Shocking, I know. *LOL*)

I have a son. I know I am slow in responding, but I always tell people that upfront in case they don't wish to RP with me. I'm not offended if they don't.

TM is highly cliquey. That's fine, because most of the people who are in the cliques are the drama-whores who I don't want to RP/interact with anyway. I'm quite happy with my own little group of friends (and my hubby!)

I realize I'm still on my soapbox. *LOL* Okay, while I'm here, I've got one last thing to say: People who are purposely mean, rude, and inconsiderate of a supposed friend's feelings regarding RP were never friends to begin with. They were attention-grabbing muns who got jealous once their muse wasn't the center of it all. I've seen THAT happen far too many times, as well. People like that should be ignored so no drama ensues, and that way both the muse and the mun can move on happily. :)

Now? I'm stepping off my soapbox for reals, yo. *LOL*

*HUGGLES*
